Mission
The Mission of the Colorado Episcopal Foundation is to leverage the vision and resources of local congregations to help build the church in Colorado, helping people to be ever more effective witnesses to Christ in their communities.
The Foundation achieves its mission through:
- Partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Colorado, local churches and others with complimentary expertise.
- Programs tailored to meet the needs of church members and delivered throughout Colorado.
- Perspective that is long-term for the benefit of future generations of church members and future ministries.
Five Unique Characteristics of the Foundation
- The Foundation is an independent functioning body of Episcopalians with expertise in financial and program management. The Bishop is a voting member on the Foundation Board.
- The Foundation's elected trustees come from all parts of the state, offering a valuable, statewide viewpoint linked to our spiritual commitment.
- The Foundation maintains a long-range perspective. Our vision is focused not on the short-term day-to-day, but on building the long-term health and vitality of the Episcopal Church in Colorado.
- The Foundation manages funds and programs utilizing broad-based financial orientation and expertise.
- The foundation does not ask parishioners or congregations for money. It is externally funded.
