Anita Sanborn

President

Anita SanbornAnita joined the Foundation in January, 2004, and brings over 25 years of progressive management experience in a variety of not-for-profit settings. With an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Georgia State University, Anita has been a resident of Colorado since 1987. Anita served as executive director of the Alzheimer's Association Rocky Mountain Chapter from 1987 through 1998, and as vice president for Chapter Services for the National Alzheimer's Association until 2001. Most recently she was a consultant to the Center for Ethics and Humanities at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. She is married to Robert Thomson, and they are the parents of two sons who are in college. In addition to being an active member of Good Shepherd, Centennial, Anita is involved with the African Sudanese Community Center, the Sudanese ministry at St. John's Cathedral, and serves on the board of the PorterCare Hospice Foundation.

Scott Asper

Finance Director

Scott AsperOriginally from Illinois, Scott is a CPA who for a number of years has been self-employed. Prior to joining the Foundation, Scott was an auditor with a national CPA firm in Denver specializing in not-for-profit and small business clients. Scott thoroughly enjoys outdoor sports, including golf, tennis and skiing. He is married to Sonja and the father of a boy and a girl. Scott became a full-time Foundation staff member in February, 2004.

Vivian Berríos-Torres

Program Administrator

Vivian Berríos-TorresVivian was born and raised in Puerto Rico and brings with her over 10 years of experience in churches and non-profits. She was the Youth Worker at Christian Community Church, one of the largest bilingual congregations in Puerto Rico. There she worked with volunteer management and development, event, curriculum, and program development/implementation as well as marketing and fund raising. She left the beautiful Caribbean weather and moved to the Chicago area where she worked at Student Impact, the High School Ministry at Willow Creek Community Church. During this time she focused on volunteer management, event planning and marketing, and programmatic development and implementation. She moved to Denver in June '05 and loves that the mountains are close by - however, she still wonders where the closest beach is! Vivian holds a B.A. in Theatre and History of the Americas from Universidad de Puerto Rico and an M.A. in Transformational Leadership from Bethel University.

Kanchan Ghimire

Accounts Manager

Kanchan GhimireBorn and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal, Kanchan has been a resident of Colorado since 1997. She is married to Karun and the mother of girl and a boy. Kanchan has a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and has attended Metropolitan State College, with a major in accounting. Prior to joining the Foundation, she worked in the property management field. Kanchan joined the Foundation staff in May, 2004.
